VKEY-BIO Luminescent product line is based on luminescent technology, including Firefly and Renilla luciferase. Firefly luciferase catalyzes the oxidation of luciferin in the presence of oxygen, ATP, and magnesium ions, suitable for reporter gene assays and cell viability assays. Renilla luciferase catalyzes the oxidation of its substrate coelenterazine in the presence of oxygen, without requiring ATP, making it ideal for reporter gene assays but not suitable for cell viability assays.
